Quality Lift Safety Curtains
It is common for me to hear customer’s make regular complaints that the lift table bellows that were shipped with their lifters are of poor quality and workmanship. The most common complaint that we hear is that the material used for the lift safety curtain was too thin. This of course results in easy tearing and premature wear from the constant up and down motion of the equipment.
Akon Skirting and Bellows believes that using thicker material is the answer to this problem. We use a 22oz thick Vinyl which holds up better to the harsh industrial use. In addition, we use heavy duty stitching to make sure that extensive up and down motion does not cause the skirt folds to come apart.
Eliminate Trip Hazards
Another common problem is that is experienced is the steel stiffening rods sticking out of the side of the curtain. This of course causes several problems as they relate to the function of the safety device and the safety of the operators. When these steel wires stick out of the lift safety curtain, they form a trip hazard.
To compound the problem, it is nearly impossible to see the steel wires sticking out as you walk by. Thus, you can easily trip and fall when this condition exists. Once the wires are removed, the skirt can deform due to absence of the “structure” of the lift. To fix this problem, you can one of our Thermal lift safety curtains which have no wires. In fact they are constructed out of PVC which is stiffer and looks better.
