Roll Up Nip Guards for In-Running Nip Points

Nip guards cover the in-running nip point where one roller meets a belt, conveyor, or another roller. These guards keep your hands, gloves, and loose clothing safe from getting caught in moving machine parts. The nip guards of AKON work just like a window blind. You can unhook the shade, and it will roll up out of the way when you lock the machine out for cleaning or repair.

Unlike rigid guards that you must first unbolt, remove, and sometimes not put back on, the roll-up nip guard of AKON stays attached to the machine. This means you only have to pull it to put it back. According to machine guarding rule 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1) of OSHA, companies should protect workers from hazards such as in-going nip points.

Description

Industrial roll up guards and nip guards keep operators' hands and feet out of machines and roller pinch points, and contain flying debris. The spring roller keeps constant tension on the shade, so it stays tight as it extends and retracts. Models cover both low- and high-duty applications.
