OVERVIEW
When you use our industrial roll up guarding, you will be protecting your workers from the dangers of moving parts and flying debris. Akon specializes in supplying retractable industrial safety guards which minimize space usage and enhances flexibility.
Our unique design allows for the industrial safety guards to be rolled out when in use and rolled up when not in use. This allows for rapid entry into the work area for replenishment of material, or the removal of material.
Quick Roll Down
The guarding can roll up or down vertically or it can move side to side as shown in this picture or it can be a drop-down version which moves vertically up and down.
Depending on your application, one version will likely work better than the other based on their respective features and your application requirements. The material used in the curtains is an industrial grade vinyl which will prevent sparks and flying debris from leaving the work area where it could potentially injure the operator or a passerby.
Why Use Roll Up Guarding
It is important to use roll up safety guards to protect your associates from injury. In addition to protecting your their health, OSHA mandates that moving equipment be guarded as it could seriously injure or kill the operator.
One common area which should be protected, but oftentimes is not, are robot welding cells and robot palletizing stations. The welding stations give off sparks which can fly up to 10 feet from where the actual welding is taking place. These welding sparks have been known to burn skin and can even result in blindness if they come in contact with the eye.
Palletizing stations are also very dangerous as the robot arm swings from side to side and an unsuspecting person can walk right into the path of its travel. There are countless other situations where you should be guarding your equipment. For more information please visit the OSHA website and follow their recommendations.
