During our quoting process, we have come to realize that there are two key aspects of the quoting and ordering process which are often times missed by our valued customers. While you as a consumer can not be expected to know all of the critical information required for an accurate proposal, we feel that we can help you learn about these two important pieces of importation which we require.
Two Critical Scissor Lift Safety Skirting Issues
Where the Skirting Connects to the Lift One of the most often overlooked pieces of information we see pace by our desk is the mounting of the lift safety skirting to the scissor lift. The problem occurs when a lifter has a top platform which is larger than the lift table base. For example, a lift might be 50³ x 50³ and the steel platform which is mounted to the top of the lift might be 80³ x 80³. In this scenario, we will need to know if the skirt attaches to the 50³ x 50³ lift or the 80³ x 80³ over-sized top platform.
Mounting the scissor lift safety skirting Another common misconception that we run into often is the mounting of the skirt. In this scenario, it is often perceived that the skirt must be connected to the top of the lift as well as the base of the lift. In most instances this is often times not required, as gravity will keep the lift safety skirting on the ground as the lifter moves up and down. We do however recommend that the skirting be connected to the base of the lift if there will be power washing taking place, such as in a wash-down application. This will keep the bellows from being pushed into the inner workings of the lifter when the power washer is washing it down.
