Why Use Scissor Lift Table Covers

ANSI (The American National Standard) requires the use of guarding to protect the operators from the moving parts of the lifter. These moving parts can result in serious injury to anyone who places their extremities inside of the equipment. Typically the scissors cause the most danger as they can completely sheer off a persons hand or leg. While this might seem gruesome, it has happened in the past in manufacturing plants and is still a present danger.

Another danger is the over-sized platforms which overhang the lift table. These platforms can lower down onto an associate when they are not paying attention. And we all know that workers on the floor can easily be distracted which would allow them the ability to place a hand or foot where it should not be. In these instances, Akon suggests that a full perimeter lift cover be used. A full perimeter lift table cover will mount to the over-sized platform, rather than the smaller lift table which it is mounted to.
